About the Festival

Founded in 2015 by Joel Hastings and David Kalhous as an immersive retreat for young pianists, the Festival offers a select group of dedicated music students the opportunity for intensive study with renowned international faculty in the cultural heart of Central Europe.

The Festival has expanded twice, welcoming string students in 2019 and voice students in 2023. The Festival now offers Chamber Music for both piano and string students coached by our artist faculty.

The Festival is held at the Jan Hanus Art School, in a quiet, residential neighborhood close to both the Prague Castle and the city center.  The school’s facilities include a large concert hall, several smaller halls, and an abundance of spacious practice rooms, with one or two grand pianos in over half of the rooms.
